About us and MaisonGorret
We live in a very special place, a small corner in Valtournenche, called Frazione Montaz, it is the first group of houses when you arrive to this small town, surrounded by mountains, with an outstanding view of the Valtournenche valley.
The altitude here is 1500 meters over sea level (4920ft) and it is an excellent spot to enjoy nature and mountains year around, with more than enough snow in winter and mild temperatures in summer. Beautiful landscapes are guaranteed in sprint and fall as well. Is the perfect place to rest and / or practice outdoor sports, such as skiing or snowboarding, hiking and climbing. The property is located beside my own mountain chalet, and my family and myself have been living here for generations.
We love this small corner on earth and keep it beautiful and clean, full of flowers and green in summertime. The apartment, as well as the other chalets nearby, have been built by my father and myself, using ancient wood as main construction material.
We are a couple of experienced mountain guides who love winter sports, rock climbing, and mountaineering. Our passion for the mountains drives us, whether we’re scaling icy peaks, navigating challenging terrain, or guiding others through unforgettable adventures. When we’re not on the mountains, we’re dedicated to sharing our wealth of experience and knowledge with our friends and guests.
We are at 9 kilometers from Cervinia, and just 2 kilometers from Cime Bianche, both are part of Valtournenche ski area and offer a huge hiking and trekking area in spring and summer.
There are a number of beautiful half and full day hikes and even a via ferrata that you can do starting from the the property.
And several other activities, including hikes at the foothill of Mount Matterhorn ( or Cervino in Italian ) are available with just a short drive.
The lodgings are located in the very heart of the Valtournenche: two minutes walk distance to a small commercial area, where you find minimarkets, drugstore, typical products stores, climatized swimming pool, indoor climbing wall and sports center, and more.
Since March 2025 two of or chalets are pet friendly, you can bring your dog or your cat whit you. This service is available in our chalets Mont Cervin and Mont Rose.
